The Hunt For The Hunt For Grievous, Part 2
June 26, 2006

Last Friday, I stopped by Toys R Us, hoping to find it, yet came up empty-handed. I figured if I checked a store in a different state, I might have better luck, but to no avail. John, however, has much better success.

The Hunt For The Hunt For Grievous, Part 1
June 19, 2006

The hunt begins!
I myself am still looking for the elusive battlepack. It has thus far escaped my grasp, which is strange because the Clone Wars gunship was extremely easy to procure.
This has got me a tad upset. I'm trying to trade in my Xbox for a console that is 360 degrees better, but I can't get rid of my old Xbox until I know I can play all my current games. I am not about to give up the ability to play Burnout 3. Maybe I'll forget about getting an Xbox 360 for a while. The Wii should keep me busy.

It's A Lost Art
June 12, 2006

Break? Break? We don't need no stinking break!
$120?! Even if I somehow scrounge out that sort of dough, I would still be paying more than $10 per figure! (I'm considering shipping costs as well.) Yes, other e-tailers are charging similar prices. This makes $7 for a Star Wars figure seem reasonable.
In other, less angry news, purple Clone Troopers are coming! I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself. Don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome in a Mace Windu sort of way, I just wasn't expecting another delicious flavor of Clones. I just hope there are five total figures in the set, not four.

Thief In The Night, Volume 2
June 5, 2006

It's true, Nintendo's Wavebird controllers have a very long working range. The "real" John once considered setting up a series of mirrors so that he could play the GameCube in his bedroom while using the toilet in his bathroom. Perhaps John did not want me to post this information on my website.
I was able to beat Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 this week, so now I'm back to playing Forza Motorsport in between bouts of NEW Super Mario Bros. The great thing about NSMB is that is captures the spirit of the original, yet retains it's own unique charm.

Orthodontics
May 29, 2006

Perhaps if you had found an alien spacecraft in your yard, you would have started asking questions sooner than John and Pete did.
The Rolling Operations Command Center is a wonderful G.I. Joe vehicle that harkens back to the line's golden years in the mid eighties. The R.O.C.C. not only fits a number of figures, it transforms into a base and even comes with a small jet. It can probably replace all of the other G.I. Joe vehicles you own.
My limited taste in music led me to the new band Angels and Airwaves. The website can explain it a lot better than I can.
I was concerned I would not be able to see X-Men: The Last Stand on opening day (I had a trip out of town for an "Iowa Family Reunion"), but I was relieved to get my ticket and, without spoiling anything, I can say it was a much better sequel than the third entry of the Alien franchise was. Much better.

You've Gone Too Far
May 22, 2006

The non-fictional John and I had the chance to playtest the card game last weekend. We both agreed it could use a few additions, but certain elements from the films would have to be left out.
The NibCrom Central Awards, as I've said before, are not the most comprehensive of all awards. The primary obstacle being monetary funds. Therefore, certain candidates may not come into view until the awards have already taken place. I've got one that deserves a nod, but the explanation will have to wait until next week.

Aliens vs. Predator vs. Thermians
May 15, 2006

This news may seem astounding, but you're going to have to trust me: I'm still making progress on the Aliens Predator card game! Yes, as flighty as I can be, I'm sticking with this scheme. Even IF some of the game mechanics are "borrowed".
Speaking of Aliens and Predators, check this out:

Finally, we are getting some awesome Aliens toys! Now all I need is the rest of the marines (Hudson, Gorman, Bishop, etc.), some playsets (a breeding chamber for the queen, the Derelict), and an APC that fits in a Dropship. Please, please give me a Dropship!

So Little Has Changed Over The Years
May 8, 2006

Let's hope so indeed.
John and I used to make "video games" out of paper. We would use larger sheets as the play area and then cut out little characters to move around with. Then one of us would be the hero and the other would be the villian. There were multiple stages and we both tried to beat each other's games. We always did of course. How hard could it have been?
Someone at Lucasfilm finally caved. Yes, we will soon be able to own the unaltered original Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. I guess more than 72,000 signatures convinced them it was a bad idea to let the original trilogy never go technologically farther than VHS and laserdisc. There's probably other issues besides the petition, like pirated copies. I'm sure they won't have many extra copies to go around since the release window is fairly small, but I have the feeling some people who said they would love to own it will pass on it anyways. "Well they said they were never going to release it on DVD, so I just bought the 2004 special edition. I'm not buying another copy." Or some other ridiculous scenario.
If you're looking for some nostalgia, check out some of the banners previously featured on the site. See, I told you I'd get some of the old content back on NibCrom Central!

Tastes Like Xenomorph
May 1, 2006

A xeno-what?
Pete's not actually the one working on an Aliens Predator customizable card game. I am.
I know, I know, I'll probably never actually finish it. And even if I do, I probably won't get the chance to play it more than twice a year. But I am doing my best to stick to it.
Hey, does anyone know of any books that contains good photos from the Alien/Predator films? It will take me about twenty years to finish this card game if I have to draw all of the images myself.

Close To Home
April 24, 2006

It's a long drive from NibCrom's hometown to Walsteens.
My first summer blockbuster this year was The Island, which actually came out last summer. The first time I saw the trailer, I thought it looked like a remake of a film featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000, Parts: The Clonus Horror. I guess the director of Parts thought the same thing.
Despite the apparent uncredited ripoff of a well-meaning but ultimately laughable film, I thorougly enjoyed The Island. My advice? See both films, but stick to the MST3K version of The Clonus Horror.

Planes, Trains & Landspeeders
April 17, 2006

Humans are very far behind when it comes to modes of transportation.
So...instead of working on the comic yesterday, I spent my time resolving some billing issues with the site. Hence the later than usual update. Sorries. I've been told that a lot of people miss the content from the old site. Fear not, I will upload the "classic" content eventually.

Eat It Or Put It Back
April 10, 2006

Enter the dark world of convenience store food.
I've been reading the novelization of Revenge of the Sith, and hot diggity, that book is good. Not only does it expand upon the events of the film, it really captures the excitement of Star Wars. Visions from the film become so clear when reading it that it is almost like experiencing a graphic novel.

NibCrom Central Awards coming soon, I promise.

The Hitman
March 20, 2006

Much like Neo in The Matrix, NibCrom has learned certain skills through John's hasty uploading.
I'm so ashamed that the NibCrom Central Awards aren't ready yet. Perhaps this week will reveal the winners.

A Soothing Sensation
March 13, 2006

Four times larger than the competition!
If you observe the left-hand side of your screen, you will see the opportunity to sign up for the NibCrom Newsletter. Now there is no excuse not to see NibCrom and all his friends every week!

Yeah, the 2005 NCC Awards aren't up yet. I can't believe the Oscars beat me this year.

Do These Pants Make My Robo-Butt Look Big?
February 20, 2006

My advice? Never let John take you shopping.
The official date for the NibCrom Central Awards is March 3! In less than two weeks we'll all know what was worth living for in 2005!

Just Now Noticing

The NibCrom Central Awards will be coming soon. More details next week!

How Strict Can They Be?
February 6, 2006

This new comic may shock you.
My obsession with Forza Motorsport is coming to an end. Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited about the game, but I no longer feel it has to take up every spare moment of my life. Just a warning to people who like game guides: the one for Forza Motorsport contains no information about the GM cars featured in the game. Why? I have no idea.

The Usual Answers
January 30, 2006

I'm sure we've all had interviews just like this.

The second and final day of pictures are now up from Road America. I would have had some wallpapers up today, but I stayed up until 4am playing Forza Motorsport on Saturday.

Thanks Goodness For Short Tempers
January 23, 2006

Some people just don't know how to keep their cool.
A fun part of finishing a video game is choosing the next game to play. Having just finished Resident Evil 0, replaying Resident Evil 4 on hard mode is not what I have in mind at the moment. Shall I replay Burnout 3? Or begin Indigo Prophecy? The video game buffet presents me with many possibilities!

Not only do I have the usual comic up this week, but a new feature as well. I took a whole bunch of pictures at Road America last October, and I've made available the best ones.

Electronic Comrades
January 16, 2006

This week: the send-off. Next week: the interview begins?!
Mario Kart DS is not a compromising game in any way. Free online play, 32 tracks, unlockables, engaging multiplayer...it will be difficult to top this version. I still haven't actually played online yet. Perhaps this week the opportunity will arise.

The Passing of Friends
January 9, 2006

It's always hard to say goodbye.
I hope you've been enjoying the comic thus far. As difficult as I thought it would be to do my own comic, it's even a tad bit harder than that. But I'm pretty proud I've made it thus far. Stay tuned. There are a lot more comics coming!
Oh, and Narnia is fantastic.

Alias
January 2, 2006

Picking out a new name is just one of the perks of being an illegal alien.
I do apologize for not inking and coloring the comic this week. Being out of town for two weekends in a row finally caught up with me.
I got this game called Attacktix for Christmas. I had seen these overpowered Star Wars figures in stores before, but I never had the guts to pick them up. Receiving a starter pack as a gift gave me a perfect excuse to collect a few of them. The game is quick, simple and pretty fun too. I plan on forcing all of the guest I have over to play Attacktix with me.
